Salvo Drums
|
Temasek Polytechnic Salvo Drums is a high-impact percussion ensemble specialising in the 24-Season Drums, a contemporary drumming art form that blends powerful rhythms, synchronised movement and visual storytelling. Originating in Malaysia and inspired by the traditional Chinese 24 solar terms, the 24-Season Drums is widely recognised for its physicality, precision and strong ensemble discipline. At TP, Salvo Drums is guided by instructor Mr Jerriel Quak, a former President of the group who now leads its artistic direction and training - bringing strong performance standards, rehearsal rigour and student leadership development into every production. Beyond large-scale campus showcases, Salvo Drums has expanded its artistic scope through curated projects and professional platforms, as well as overseas learning and performance programmes in Johor, Malaysia. The group is also regularly invited to perform at major community and cultural events such as "Singa Drum Gaia Fiesta" and national-level celebrations, reflecting its strong reputation as a disciplined, high-energy and production-ready ensemble. Through themed works and contemporary presentation approaches, Salvo Drums continues to create immersive performance experiences that combine tradition, creativity and powerful collective expression. |
