Malay Dance
|
Temasek Polytechnic Malay Dance Group, also known as "Kesenian Si Anak Tari (Seni Nak Tari / SNT)", is a long-standing performing ensemble that presents high-quality traditional and contemporary Malay dance. Established in 1990, SNT nurtures student-artists through disciplined training, expressive artistry and culturally rooted performance works — showcasing the richness and diversity of Malay dance styles through dynamic movement, music and strong stage presentation. In 2025, SNT marked a major milestone with its 35th Anniversary production, “Meraki, Jati Si Anak Tari” — a full-scale concert that brought together current members and alumni in an inter-generational celebration of the group’s legacy and identity. Guided by instructors Ms Sharifah Shafiyyah Binti Syed Ali Alhinduan and Ms Hani Insyirah Binte Ismad, members are mentored with strong artistic standards and performance discipline, building confidence, polish and cultural grounding for the stage. Beyond campus, SNT remains active on prominent platforms such as "Muara Festival @ Esplanade" and key institutional showcases, reflecting its continued relevance and presence in Singapore’s Malay arts community. |
