Dance Ensemble

Temasek Polytechnic Dance Ensemble (TPDE) is a high-performance dance collective specialising in Hip Hop, Modern Dance and Breakin’, where rigorous training meets bold choreography and strong stagecraft. Known for its versatility across both competitive and performance platforms, TPDE also creates site-specific works that bring dance beyond the conventional stage.

The CCA is guided by an accomplished instructor team as follows:

• Hip Hop: Ahmad Kamil is the Artistic Director of Six.5 and an experienced choreographer/coach, who works across major institutions and productions.

• Modern Dance: Nikki Chan is a contemporary dance choreographer and educator, with strong formal training foundations and extensive experience mentoring tertiary dancers.

• Breakin’: Gerald Chan has been a long-time resident instructor with TPDE. He is a TPDE alumnus and the founder of Artistate, as well as an internationally representing breaker and mentor who has developed many top local dancers.

TPDE has built a strong reputation through consistent results at major platforms, such as POL-ITE: "Off The Ground", "Super 24" and "World Supremacy Battlegrounds", alongside a strong competitive track record across genres. It also maintains strong public visibility through major institutional showcases and national platforms, including appearances connected to the National Day Parade and live Mediacorp broadcast productions, and is recognised for creative excellence with multiple "Arts Group of the Year" accolades at the Temasek Student Excellence Awards.
