Chinese Orchestra
|
Temasek Polytechnic Chinese Orchestra (TPCO) is a dedicated performing ensemble of student musicians who bring Chinese orchestral music to life through expressive, audience-ready performances. From well-loved traditional repertoire to contemporary Chinese works, TPCO blends cultural storytelling with refined ensemble craft, and collaborates regularly with fellow CCAs such as TP Band and Music Vox. The orchestra is led by Mr Wong De Li Dedric, a National Arts Council Arts Scholarship recipient, Resident Conductor of Ding Yi Music Company, and Music Director of the Asian Cultural Symphony Orchestra and Nanyang Collective. Beyond the stage, TPCO plays an active role in building meaningful platforms for cultural engagement. The orchestra initiated and co-leads Magical Autumn with the TP Community Service Club - an annual signature Mid-Autumn outreach event - bringing seniors and students together through themed performances and interactive festivities. TPCO also supports high-profile partner platforms and community institutions, such as a gala performance for the Singapore-China Business Association (SCBA) at the Shangri-La Hotel, as well as outreach performances in settings such as the Institute of Mental Health (IMH). |
