Dragon Boat
|
Originating from China, dragon boat racing is a human-powered boat sport. For competitive events, dragon boats are typically rigged with decorative and colorful Chinese dragon heads and tails. In races, a standard boat consists of 20 paddlers, while a small boat consists of 10 paddlers, excluding the steersperson and drummer. Dragon boat races are a highlight of the Freshmen Orientation (Week Zero)
activities. The TP Dragon Boat Teams (Men & Women) compete annually
in the Polytechnic-ITE (POL-ITE) Dragon Boat Race as well as external competitions.
