The Glocal Ambassadors (formerly Global Connect Student Group) is an interest group under Temasek Polytechnic’s International Relations/Centre of Transcultural Studies, which oversees the fundamental subjects of Global Studies (GS) and Sustainability & Climate Action (SCA).

Our dynamic community bridges the gap between global and local perspectives - hence glocal - aiming to cultivate globally-minded individuals who are deeply connected to their local communities. By integrating international insights with local initiatives, we create a unique platform for cultural exchange, global learning and community engagement.

Students not only participate but also help plan and host activities, such as those listed below. Many programmes include visits to Singapore sites and ethnic enclaves, showcasing Singapore's multiculturalism and government initiatives.

Key Activities:

  1. Glocal Exchanges: Participate in physical and virtual exchanges that incorporate international best practices, providing a comprehensive learning experience.

  2. Cultural Immersion Programmes: Engage in TP-wide activities such as Carousel of Cultures (formerly known as Global Community Day) to promote understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures, both within Singapore and globally.

  3. Glocal Dialogues: Join inter-polytechnic events such as Civic Conversations Engagement, Workplace Integration In Action, Cross-Cultural Symposium and Youth Model ASEAN Conference.
