Welcome, Freshmen!

Congratulations on your successful enrolment to Temasek Polytechnic (TP)!

The Freshmen Orientation (FO) occupies a special spot in TP’s calendar. It not only celebrates a momentous milestone in your academic journey as you progress into tertiary education, it also heralds the start of your exciting journey of growth and discovery.

Feeling jittery before the commencement of Polytechnic life? Fret not! TP has lined up an exciting array of activities to help you kickstart your journey on the right note, and to support you in making your transition into the Polytechnic less daunting and more enjoyable.

As part of the FO, you will get to experience various onboarding activities organised by your respective Academic Schools, which are scheduled from 5-12 April 2024. These activities are specially curated to optimise your assimilation into Polytechnic life, while allowing you ample time and space to induct yourself into TP’s environment, people and culture. During these activities, you will get to:

Meet your Care Persons and classmates from the same course of study;
Understand about your course and its structure, rigours and requirements;
Receive your student matriculation card and learn how to read your timetable;
Learn how to use TP’s e-services to access your lectures and tutorials;
Enjoy a tour of our vibrant campus, including your school premises and facilities;
And many more!

Your onboarding experience will culminate in a fun afternoon out at the Temasek Regatta x SpecTACular on 12 April 2024. This is a finale programme that we have put together specially for you at Bedok Reservoir – where you will get to watch/partake in exciting dragon boat races and aqua tele-matches, cheer your hearts out for your fellow peers, and catch enthralling arts performances by TP’s finest talents!

TP: A Safe & Fun Place to Study & Play In

At TP, your safety and wellbeing is our utmost priority. We have a zero-tolerance policy on hazing and derogatory behaviour on campus. Should you encounter or come across such incidents, you are strongly encouraged to report them to any TP staff or via our whistle blower hotline at sdaa@tp.edu.sg.

As you immerse yourself in the exciting line-up of FOP activities, we hope that you will embrace the Team Temasek Spirit – a special bond shared by our TP family across varied backgrounds, cultures and countries, and cemented by our collective Spirit of Excellence, Resilience, Respect and Care for others.

Temasek Regatta x SpecTACular 2024

Annually, our staple FO highlights – Temasek Regatta (dragon boat contest) and Temasek SpecTACular (arts concert) – are held to mark the end of your FO journey, as well as the start of your Polytechnic life. Brought to you in an integrated and immersive format, this event also encapsulates the very best of TP’s creative energies, sporting excellence and artistic splendour.

Temasek Regatta: Make a Splash & Have Fun in the Sun!

What better way is there to end your freshmen orientation experience on a high note than by bonding with your friends, while experiencing a slice of the campus vibrancy that TP is known for?

A time-honoured tradition in the FO calendar, the Temasek Regatta brings together our TP family for a day of fun, play and action!

Watch your friends paddle their hardest through a series of exciting dragon boat races and aqua tele-matches. Be stoked for your peers as they perform creative cheers that epitomise your School’s spirit, camaraderie and values – all in the name of friendly and sporting fun!

SpecTACular: Be Dazzled by Our Finest Arts Talents!

Another memorable experience shared across generations of TPians, the arts component of our FO – SpecTACular – will be staged as a consolidated experience for you this year!

Featuring the finest talents of the Temasek Arts Centre, be enthralled by the lively acts that represent our Arts Groups. From groovy beats, melodious voices to high-octane dances that promise to get you moving, get a first-hand glimpse of the energy and dynamism that our student-artists bring to our vibrant campus.

What’s more, this riveting showcase is fully conceptualised, produced and executed by our very own talented students. Be inspired by TP’s collective values of strength, resilience, community and hope at SpecTACular!

Go Green with TP!

At TP, we are dedicated to promoting sustainability and actively strive to support this cause. We strongly encourage you to bring your own bottles for this fun afternoon out at Bedok Reservoir, where you can conveniently refill your bottles at the designated water points on-site to stay hydrated.

Life as a TP student can be as exciting, engaging and empowering as you want it to be! As you prepare to embark on your Polytechnic journey, do take time to discover the TP community beyond your academic pursuits and build friendships, memories and skills that will last you a lifetime.

Join us at the CCA Fair 2024 and take your pick from the diverse CCAs offered in TP – ranging from performing arts, sports, adventure, community service to entrepreneurship – and lots more! Besides learning more about what makes your dream CCA tick and find out if it is indeed the one for you, you can also look forward to captivating performances by our arts groups that are certain to entertain.

So, get warmed up to the plethora of exciting possibilities and take advantage of the many CCAs available to help you achieve your fullest potential. Mark the dates for the CCA Fair 2024 now!
