Teatro
|
Temasek Polytechnic Teatro, meaning “theatre” in Spanish, is a student ensemble dedicated to contemporary performance-making, devised theatre and collaborative storytelling. Beyond traditional acting, members are trained across the full creative pipeline – including scriptwriting, dramaturgy, directing, stage management, props, costume, lighting and sound – enabling students to experience theatre as an integrated creative and production practice. Teatro places strong emphasis on experimentation, original work and reflective artistic practice, providing students with a safe yet rigorous environment to explore new forms of performance and creative expression. In addition to campus-based productions and festival showcases, Teatro actively engages in industry-linked learning and professional exposure through public performances, Black Box Theatre presentations and collaborations with external partners. Students regularly work alongside theatre practitioners and alumni, and have performed in professional venues and commissioned platforms, including fundraising and outreach productions for national institutions. Through original devised works, creative direction roles and cross-disciplinary collaborations, Teatro serves as an applied learning platform for students to develop artistic leadership, production competencies and professional readiness within Singapore’s contemporary theatre landscape. |
