Indian Dance

Temasek Polytechnic Indian Dance Group (TPIDG) celebrates the richness and diversity of Indian dance through a vibrant repertoire that spans classical forms (such as Bharatanatyam) to high-energy folk and Bollywood styles. Under the guidance of Mrs Premela Balakrishnan, Director of Rudram Arts and an MOE-registered CCA Performing Arts (Indian Dance) instructor, members develop strong technique, musicality and performance presence while learning to honour tradition with contemporary stagecraft. TPIDG has performed across major institutional and public platforms, and achieved notable milestones — most prominently, participating in the "Largest Mass Indian Traditional Folk Arts Performance in Singapore", which set two national records (Singapore Book of Records, 13 July 2024). With a consistent presence at festivals and showcases such as "DREAMS", "Harmony Fest", "RP Momentum" and "Indian Heritage Arts Fiesta", TPIDG continues to grow as a confident, culturally-rooted ensemble, where every performance carries story, rhythm and pride. |
